Although officially formed in 2018, the Attorneys at Comerford Law have been working closely together for nearly a decade. Attorneys Matthew Comerford and Curt Parkins have built a practice by listening to, empathizing with, and solving their clients' legal problems. Beginning by buildings a predominately criminal defense practice, the Attorneys utilized this field to practice and hone their trial skills, making them unrivaled litigators. Attorney Comerford was born and bred in the Green Ridge Section of Scranton, where he still resides today. He graduated from the Scranton Preparatory School in 1993, and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Scranton in 1997. Attorney Comerford received his law degree from Widener University School of Law in 2001.
Since his law school graduation, Attorney Comerford has been actively practicing law in Scranton and all of NEPA. Attorney Comerford’s prowess in the Courtroom is unrivaled. He is an aggressive and talented litigator with the experience and ability to try cases in all courts and in all areas of the law.
Attorney Comerford built his practice in Criminal Law, trying dozens of criminal jury trials in both state and federal court. While still practicing and excelling in criminal law, Attorney Comerford has expanded his practice into and applies his extraordinary trial experience to Civil Litigation, with emphasis on Personal Injury and Civil Rights Cases. Attorney Parkins was born and raised in NEPA, where he attended North Pocono High School, graduating in the top ten students in his class. From there, he went to Boston, where he graduated with honors from Boston University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Attorney Parkins then recieved his Juris Doctor from Temple University Beasley School of Law. While at Temple, Attorney Parkins was a consistent presence on the Dean’s List and focused in Criminal Defense and Trial Advocacy.
Attorney Parkins has been admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar since April 2011. He focuses his practice on Criminal Defense, Personal Injury Litigation, Family Law, and Immigration Law. He also practices Municipal Law and has been the Solicitor for Spring Brook Township since January 2013.
Attorney Parkins is most passionate about his criminal defense practice. In just five years, he has handled hundreds of criminal matters, and he has litigated over twenty criminal jury trials., including multiple homicide cases. Attorney Parkins is an aggressive and vigorous defender with the expertise and tenacity to produce results in all criminal matters.
Attorney Parkins prides himself on giving back to the community. He donates a countless amount of time each year to coaching North Pocono High School’s Mock Trial Team.
In 2016, 2017,and 2018, Attorney Parkins was nominated for and accepted through peer review as a Super Lawyer Rising Star in the area of Criminal Defense. Attorney Parkins is the only Super Lawyer in the field of Criminal Defense in the Scranton, Pennsylvania area.
